Andrew Gauvin is President of Newitech, LLC, a US-based subsidiary of Newitech sp. z o.o. Andrew joined Newitech in December, 2006, selling his US-based company, Enabled Minds LLC, which specialized in team collaboration software. Andrew currently manages the international projects for Newitech functioning as Director of International Operations. He is responsible for global marketing and delivery efforts. He is focused on developing Newitech's global strategy, and serving the strategic technology needs of Newitech's international clients. Andrew has 10 years of professional experience as a consultant managing, designing, and implementing various commercial and governmental software applications. While completing his undergraduate work in Providence, RI, Andrew lead the IT and Internet strategy for a fast growing e-learning start-up and consulted a local advertising firm in their new e-commerce operations. Later, Andrew worked as a project manager and software engineer for Sapient Corporation in San Francisco on the conception and development of large Internet ventures for firms such as Toyota and Scudder Investments. From 2001 to 2006, Andrew ran an independent consulting firm in Oakland, California and later from Portland and Warsaw (the home towns for Andrew and his wife respectively). As a freelance developer and architect, he has had hands-on experience with various modern development languages (Java, PHP, and .NET) and has aggressively applied modern development methodologies and tools (remote development, iterative development, open source toolkits, code generation, etc.). He developed various software products and services for his clients by forming and managing multi-disciplinary teams of freelancers from around the world (experts in marketing, usability, graphic design, scalability, security, etc). Between 2002 and 2006, he functioned as IT director for 4 small start-ups, coordinating strategy and development. Andrew graduated in 1999 from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, skiing, and sailing. He and his family split their time between Portland and Warsaw. |
