The aim of the credit information system (CIS) is to allow a bank to make use of the most recent credit risk information available in the Polish market. This is the information collected and processed by Biuro Informacji Kredytowej SA (Credit Information Office; Polish acronym - BIK). Biuro Informacji Kredytowej S.A. aids the process of credit decision making by banks, organizations in the financial services sector related to banks, as well as by credit-granting entities in other sectors of the economy, through creating and developing effective tools for evaluating the financial condition of their customers. This activity is carried out by collecting, integrating and making available added-value data and information products indispensable for building a developed consumer market.
